Maple Grove Residents Ask, How to Reset Time of Day after a Power Outtage?

We have received quite a few calls on what to do with your water softener when you have a power outage like parts of Maple Grove has had lately.  On most water softeners the settings should hold for up to 8 hours.  Generally, the only item that you need to reset on the softener is the time of day.

If your softener has a digital display and up and down arrows, you just push down on one of those arrows and the time will start to move.  Reset to the correct time of day, don’t forget the AM and PM indicator! The regeneration time (usually at 2:00 AM) will not change. Once you get the correct time you can just step back, the time will automatically save and you are all set.

If you have a Kenmore or GE water softener you press the select button and the time of day will flash,. Then you can use the up and down arrows to set the time of day.  Once you have the correct time of day, continue to hit select to review remaining parameters until you get back to the home screen and then you are good to go.

Another very popular water softener is the Fleck 5600 Econominder. Here is a link to a video we made on how to set time of day for that control valve.

If you have the Fleck 5600 SXT or the Fleck 5800 SXT, here is the link to a step by step video we made set those valves. **Try to ignore the lovely piano music in the background, I know we do… :)**

We hope this helps you with resetting the time of day on your water softener!
